Our Mooring at the Judes Ferry Inn
What a night! The barbecue was such a success that a couple of the lads had a little too much to drink and decided to have an in depth conversation outside our bedroom window until 1am. The evening climaxed with one being sick on the decking, his drunken friend getting a bucket of water to clean it up but throwing over his head instead, the police coming and pinning one to the floor and putting handcuffs on his wrists and ankles. At this point he was screaming at the top of his voice, so an ambulance was called. They then decided that as he was 6'4" and 17 stone, they couldn't move him and they had to release his ankles to try to get him to walk.
During all of this, Tom and I were lying quietly in bed and by the time it was all over, we were wide awake. It wasn't quite what we expected from our quiet country location.
Anyway this morning all was well and we set off at 10am, our earliest to date. We had an uneventful trip apart from a short burst of rain and made our way through Ely before mooring at Little Thetford.
We then cycled back to Ely and booked the boat into the marina for next week so that we can really do this city justice. The man said he wouldn't charge us for electricity hook up as we wouldn't be using much. I didn't like to tell him about the washing waiting to be done, the freezer, the tv and the laptop!!
A quiet evening and an early night I hope - we are both shattered.
